After completing his specialised course in International Business from the University of California, Mohit came back to India to try his luck into the TV industry. Now that the actor has achieved a milestone, he opened up about his journey while talking to a leading daily. The actor spoke about how the industry has evolved and bagging a role is a tough job especially for men “I completely agree with the fact that since ages, when the concept of daily soaps emerged, the audience was always female and the actors performing were also of the same section. But we actors as males have a great fan following. When I started my journey from ‘Splitsvilla,’ a different section of the society, mainly the youth, started following me and now, when I am doing daily soaps, other sections of the society have started following me. Somehow I feel that the kind of roles you do increases your mass appeal. This is the reason why we actors do television because somewhere or the other we become a household name.”

He also spoke about why did he take up work in daily soaps, “When a script is offered to me, I look at the concept more than the story and then I check what is the current trend going on and accordingly I agree to do any show. As the trends in clothes keep changing so does the trend in television.”

Mohit also spoke about how the audience reacts to mythological or fiction shows and he said, “I think there are several channels which are showcasing serials that are based on supernatural and it’s not that people are not watching it. People are watching as well as loving the concepts. All the shows are doing great on TRP and I think people are now bored of watching those daily saas-bahu soap operas and they find the concepts of naag nagins, daayan, tantra-mantra quite interesting. The scope of entertainment is very high when it comes to shows based on supernatural powers. The shows are purely entertainment based and people really enjoy watching it. Abhi logon ko ismain mazaa aa raha hai, yahi achha lag raha hai.”
