Manish Wadhwa’s powerful and menacing act as Kansa is one of the major highlights of And TV’s mythological show Paramavatar Shri Krishna. The actor’s portrayal is being considered as one of the best villains of all time on the small screen. Apart from playing Kans’s role so flawlessly, he is also best remembered for portraying some famous historical characters like Chanakya, Balaji Vishwanath, Vishwamitra, etc. on screen.

Have a look at his performance on the show:

Creating magic on the small screen with his performances, it comes as no surprise that the actor’s tryst with history continued to make wonders on the big screen as well. Not many would remember, but Manish has also got an opportunity to perform a historical character on the silver screen. Don’t think too much, it was Gandharvsen’s character, who is the king of Sinhala. He played this role in none other than filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic period drama Padmaavat (2018), his character was that of Rani Padmavati’s (played by Deepika Padukone) father. Though he didn’t have much screen time in the movie, he was seen sharing screen space with Shahid Kapoor, who played the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh.

For those who aren’t aware, Padmaavat was also not the first time when the talented actor was seen working on the big screen. Earlier, he featured in films like Shabri (2011) and Jackpot (2013), but it was with Padmaavat that he played a historical character on the big screen for the first time.

And, the actor’s tryst with history continued to make its way from the small to the big screen. Isn’t that great?
